I have the Turtlebug, the original Cricket, and almost passed on this. So glad I didn't! I now have my lightest go-to stand for hanging my beloved AMOK without trees when hiking and/or inside if needed while traveling. The engineering and thought that went into improving and updating the original Cricket was well worth the purchase for me. As a 70-plus youngster, the weight and ease of setup are awesomely beneficial. Thanks, Cal and Kristen, for your help and support. You guys are next level

Thank you so much for the 5 stars Darcy! One trick to get the poles into the hubs are to lay your two ridge pieces on the ground in a diamond shape with the tips touching on both ends. Leave the tips touching and everything as flat on the ground as possible when inserting the poles into the hubs. This should help a lot!
My treasure for traveling by flight. I don’t care how nice a hotel resort bed may be…it’s not the same luxury I get in a hammock after sleeping in one full time for over 2 years. It fits in my 45L carryon so I’m never separated from it. I use the compartments of the 45L for my topquilt, underquilt, and neck pillow. The hard side of the case is for my Cricket, hammock, and travel sheet. I call it my bed in a bag.

That airport pic is iconic! We are so glad Cricket is there to give you peace of mind and comfort during your travels. Thank you Jeanna!
This stand is perfect!! It’s light weight and easy to assemble. I bought it to use in a few cases where I won’t have any trees, but now I might just bring it and use it on every trip! Super great product!

Thank you so much for your kind words Levi! We're happy you're loving the stand and that it is a useful part of your kit. We appreciate you.
Three Stars only because I have yet to use it outside. Setup was fairly straight forward since I own a Hive. With the sections having shock cord holding the sections together it reduced setup time compared to my Hive. Getting the sections to stay in the hubs while working the opposite side can be frustrating and would be a bit easier to control with a second person. Once the stand is assembled correctly the sections stay in place while the stand is being moved around. To make it so I can stake the stand down I tied some paracord around each leg with a loop at the end, to prevent the wind from carrying the stand away. The only problem I had with the setup was the directions mentioned wire loops to connect the legs together and I had epoxied UHMWPE rope at the end of each leg.
Store owner replied:
Thank for the thoughtful and detailed feedback Joel! We’re glad to hear setup was straightforward, faster than your Hive, and that everything feels stable once assembled.
We understand wanting to reserve final judgment until you’ve used it outdoors, and we appreciate the notes on solo setup. For clarity about the wire loops: the model you selected at checkout was the non-adjustable legs version, which does not include wire loops, just the UHMWPE.
We hope you get a chance to use it outside soon, where the stand really shines. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience and for trusting YOBOgear with your purchase!
Still very new but she passes the hotel room check with flying colors. I knew what I was getting into, having encountered a Cricket 2.0 at MiCHILIgan in 2025. I am happy to report that my experience with this late ‘25 production model meets or even exceeds the build quality/fit and finish on display in the vendor space there.
Following the provided setup video through once and then practicing a couple of times in controlled conditions (as you see here, I brought the Cricket along on a quick holiday trip and tested my knowledge at the hotel) is more than sufficient to get to grips with setup and stowing.
I am very much looking forward to many years of successful and comfortable hangs where I get to pick my exact spot, instead of negotiating with the trees about it. Cheers!
Store owner replied:
"Negotiating with trees" ... The PERFECT description! Love it Chris! We will be using that phrase in the future. Thank you so much for the picture and review. We're so glad you're happy with your purchase.
Thank you, Yobogear team!
This is by far the best design I’ve seen for pairing with a hammock. The first time, I needed to watch the video to figure it out, but once I understood the concept, I was able to set it up smoothly on my own the second time. The design is simple and smart, and now I can enjoy my hammock in beautiful places without worrying about whether there are trees around. Absolutely amazing!

Love this review! Thank you for sharing the photos and for taking the time to learn how the product works! We appreciate your business.
I upgraded from the Turtle Bug to the Cricket 2.0 UL Adjustable legs. Absolutely love this stand. It is for sleeping at work and the smaller floor space is amazing. I found rooms that I once was unable to fit the Turtle bug is not a problem for the Cricket 2.0 UL. I also love that it is so much lighter and makes my pack up in the mornings easier, now that I can pack all my sleeping system in one duffle bag. I find that it’s just as easy to pack up as the turtle bug. I will say I spoke with Kristen about whether to get the adjustable legs or not. I am glad she led me to get those. I am sure there will be a time and place for my Turtlebug. But, it will be staying at home and look forward to traveling with this stand. I am even contemplating on taking my set up to use on a Cruise next summer. Cal you did amazing job. Thanks for your time in the upgrade, it was well worth the wait. I dont know if this could get any better. A++++

Absolutely love the Cricket 2.0 UL. At 180, I’m close to the 200lb weight limit, but feel solid and secure in my Haven. The Cricket allows me to hang in places I wouldn’t typically be able to!
Kudos to Cal on the simple elegant design.
Highly recommend.

Great hammock stand fairly easy to set up. Chose the adjustable legs and that was the right choice for me. Minor issues that is being fixed. So the last star is for the best customer service. I'm gonna enjoy this for many years.

I got it to use indoors mainly so no need to sleep in a bed. Though it's obvious now many budget hotel rooms won't have room for it! At any rate it's beautiful and solid and not difficult to set up. Maybe someday all hotel rooms will come with hammock hooks. I'll probably be using this for two weeks on a patio in Vincennes coming up here pretty soon... I could have used it on a recent trip in the deserts of Argentina and Bolivia, but had to get a tent to protect against the vinchuca bugs when there were no trees for the hammock. It wasn't the fanciest tent but it was still slightly lighter than the cricket 2. But i sleep better in the hammock. And the tent was small enough to fit in the tunnels under the road and out of the wind. I suppose i hope i won't need to use the cricket 2 very often, but I'll be glad to have it when i do need it.

Perfect Gerald! Thank you for choosing a Cricket. We love that it is part of your motocamping kit now!
I enjoyed my first use of the Cricket 2.0 Ultralight hammock stand last weekend. After watching the setup video I was easily able to set the stand up, and enjoyed my first two nights in it. I live in Georgia, USA, where trees are plentiful, so there won't be a lot of occasions when I don't have easy access to trees, but when those occasions arise (or when I travel out westI am 6'2" and weigh close to the 200 lbs rated weight limit, but I know to sit gently into my hammocks, so there was no issue with strength. Credit to Cal and the whole family for designing, prototyping, packing and shipping this fine stand.
Store owner replied:
YES! We are glad you found the Cricket easy to use and sturdy Hilary. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience!
I sold my original Cricket to a fellow Yobo fan in the group, already having received my Hive and already having a few other hammock stands on my collection. I was happy waiting for 2.0 to come out and although I haven’t set it up yet between working 2 jobs and still experiencing high 90’s weather in central TX in the middle of September, I’m looking forward to setting it up when it cools down and life calms down. I’m a huge Yobo fan (obsessed).
