Cricket Hammock Stand 2.0 FAQs
Cricket 2.0 Hammock Stand FAQs
Have questions about your new Cricket 2.0? You're in the right place. Here's everything you need to know to get the most out of your stand.
Will my carbon fiber poles get scratched over time? Will it affect performance?
Yes, and it's and nothing to worry about. Surface scratches are part of the deal when it comes to using carbon fiber in the great outdoors. They're purely cosmetic and won’t impact the strength or function of your stand. The more trail time your stand gets, the more character it earns. This gear is made to be used, not kept pristine.
The legs fall out of my Cricket 2.0 when I try to move it while it’s assembled?
This usually means your leg tension cordage needs to be pulled a tiny bit tighter. Make sure you’re cinching the legs just enough to hold them securely in the hub — without pulling them so tight that they get tucked under the stand. A little tweak here usually does the trick!
How and where should I stake it down?
The easiest and most effective method: run a line from the center hub to the ground directly between the feet on each side. Stake it down before you attach a hammock or tarp — that way, you won’t be battling fabric in the wind.
Will it fit my [hammock/tarp brand/model]?
Check the assembled dimensions chart on the product page to see if your hammock and tarp will play nicely with the Cricket 2.0. As we get more Crickets out in the world, and feedback from customers, we will put a list of confirmed hammock & tarp brands on the webpages.
How does it hold up in wind?
Well, if it's light enough to carry easily, it's light enough to blow away as soon as you put a hammock or tarp on it. It will NOT behave like the 50lb stand you have in your backyard. That means you'll have to stake your Cricket to the ground if you're expecting wind and you're not in your hammock. This is easy to do. Run a line (like our Sliding Tie-Downs) from each hub down to a stake (or heavy rock) in between the legs BEFORE you attach your hammock and tarp to the stand. Then you'll be good to go!
Can I convert one Cricket 2.0 model into another?
Short answer: no. Each model (Ultralight, Regular, and Bridge) uses unique pole lengths and diameters, so parts aren't interchangeable. They’re purpose-built for specific use cases, and mixing and matching parts isn’t compatible with the design.
What if my stand breaks? Is there a warranty?
If something on your Cricket 2.0 breaks, don’t worry — you won’t need to replace the entire stand. We’ve designed it so individual parts can be easily repaired or replaced. You’ll be able to purchase single pole segments directly from us at a low cost.
While we don’t offer a formal warranty, we will replace any parts that arrive with manufacturing defects, free of charge. If the damage is due to user error or regular wear and tear, replacement parts are available for purchase.
Wear parts on Cricket: The outside cordage (resin-coated UHMWPE) and the elastic shock cordage inside. Both of these should last for years if cared for properly. We will have replacements available when/if they are needed. Inspect it regularly and use common sense. (Like don't leave your stand up to bake in the hot sun for 3 months on end.)
We strongly encourage customers to review our Return & Refund Policy before buying — it’s not like Amazon’s, and we want you to feel confident about what to expect.
