I have had my Cricket Stand for just over a year now. Love it out in the woods! It’s a constant back up option in the car in case of tree gap issues. I recently found myself house sitting for 3 weeks and the bed options were terrible. This resulted in me spending those 3 weeks camping indoors with my stand and hammock. Amazing product absolutely love it, 100% worth the price and wait to get one.

    • yoboadmin

This, THIS is what we’re talking about! We are so happy that after a full year you are happy with your Cricket purchase and have found the convenience to be worth it. Thank you so much for this review. 😊

  2. Eugene Chang (verified owner)

The Cricket stand is absolutely amazing. Even if I have trees around, I would choose to sleep in the cricket stand. You end up sleeping perfectly level and the frame feels extremely solid as I slept and moved around. Also amazing because there was no room in the car, but I was able to just keep the whole setup in between my legs! The Cricket stand is the best hammock stand I have and is a great ultra-light option. Buying the Freedom hubs allow me to just bring two legs and the hubs on a quick backpacking trip. I am so happy I found out about this company on Facebook. If you are debating on buying the stand, do it. It’s worth every penny! The community on Facebook is absolutely amazing and welcoming. The customer service through email is above and beyond.

    • yoboadmin

Love this Eugene! We also choose to use Cricket even when we have trees. We are happy you found us and are having such a great experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your review!

  3. Chris (verified owner)

    This is AWESOMENESS!!!
Just got my Cricket the other day… setup was a breeze! The interactions with Kristen have been SUPTACULAR!!! The system works wonderfully with a Safari XXL and a 6’3″ 300lbs man! Thank you for an amazing product and the best customer service I’ve ever experienced!

    • yoboadmin

GAAA we love this enthusiasm! Thank you so much Chris — we couldn’t be happier about your good experience with Cricket.

  4. Justin Brown (verified owner)

Been enjoying my cricket stand. Was super easy to set up, and easy to put away. Felt so study and will be great to hang my hammock anywhere I want. Worth it every dollar. Already booked two camping trips.

  5. Jerry dehart (verified owner)

Easy to set up and use. Iwas able to figure it out minus one hick up out of the box( had the same style legs on the same side)

    • yoboadmin

Yahoo! So glad you’re happy with your experience Jerry. Thank you!

  6. Randy (verified owner)

I was looking for a stand that could go up in my basement for long term sleeping arrangements. I needed something that would hold 350 pounds and still be easy to move/tear down when necessary. After a solid month of nightly hanging I can confidently say that the Cricket stand exceeded my expectations. As long as you pay attention to what you’re doing, the Cricket is rock solid and fits my needs perfectly. I’ve had over 400lbs in the hammock and had no concerns. In addition, customer service has been top notch when I had questions. Be confident in your purchase, it’s expensive but worth every penny.

    • yoboadmin

This is exactly what we like to hear Randy. Thank you for your purchase and letting us provide you with a long term sleeping option. We appreciate you!

  7. Karla “with a K

  8. Ruediger (verified owner)

I am so happy that I have seen a youtube viedeo about the Cricket stand. Buying it solved some of my main sleeping problems.
Since I bought it, I dont have to sleep in uncomfortable hotel beds any longer. As well I can use parts of the cricket together with one tree to sleep in hammocks together with my wife. Thank you for the great product and the outstanding service that you gave me. Looking forward to the Hive.

    • yoboadmin

We are honored to have you as a customer Ruediger! Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. Looking forward to getting your Hive stand to you!

  10. David R (verified owner)

I received my Cricket Hammock Stand today; it took 6 days to get into my hands in Canada (West Coast). I can’t complain about that! Also there were no duties or taxes payable which I was also very pleased with.
After I watched the set up video it took me about 20 minutes to have mine up in my living room. I test hung both of my hammocks and everything went exactly as spelled out in the video.
I’m extremely impressed with the quality and ease of use of this stand. Others I’ve used over the years, both purchased and diy’d, can’t hold a candle to this unit. It’s not inexpensive but the versatility alone makes this a worthwhile purchase. I’m looking forward to many starry nights on beaches, deserts and anywhere else I can’t find a tree or two!

    • yoboadmin

YES! Thank you so much for this review David! We are happy you are pleased with your purchase. It sounds like you and Cricket are going to have many great adventures.

  11. Richard Nance

I wanted to leave a review on the Yobo Cricket stand that was informative and shared a little about Kristen and Cal. So as any of you know the price is mostly the turn off for some people. I am here to tell you that I, like everyone else, have a budget and I pondered over purchasing a Cricket for 7 or 8 months. After seeing Kristen and Cal at Fall Spawl in South Carolina with the Cricket being used I was hooked. But they had been so popular there, they had sold out. I was impressed with the build quality and uses of the Cricket. For me I felt that the price was right in line with Cricket’s quality. As mentioned, before we send a lot of money with other vendors on quilts, tarps and etc. Why should this be any different thinking?
I sold my Tensa 4 and I just got mine last week at Hangcon. Cal was very eager to teach me how to set it up and help me adjust it. After setting my hammock and quilts up. We placed the tarp on… From that moment, I knew it was a perfect fit. Unlike my Tensa4, the tarp when right on and no messing with the poles to get them just right with out falling from one to another. I staked the tarp down and was very pleased with the way the stand looked afterwards. The next day the wind came 20 to 35 mph gust. The Cricket stand stood up to the test. Saw lots of tarps blowing around coming loose and flying off their tarp extenders on the Tensa. As I looked around all the Cricket stands held up to the wind. As a matter of fact, I saw them demoing how strong the Cricket was by have someone pick it up and throw it, flip it and shack it across the grass. So, durability not an issue. I am not trying to shed any bad light on the Tensa 4 it has is use but these are use what I saw.
If you need more convincing here it comes. Cal and Kristen are real genuine people. From private conversations with them, they are very much customer service orientated. They have a great grasp of the hanging community and support it 100%. That is one of the reasons they came up with the “HIVE” so bridge hammock users and couples could share in their products. They are both down to earth good hard-working people that always want to give customers the outstanding products and most useful knowledge about them. I am proud to have met and know them.

    • yoboadmin

Richard, Cal and I are laying in the Hive right now, and one or both of us may have shed a tear reading your review. Thank you so much for your kind words, for your thoughtfulness in your purchase, and for taking the time to get to know us. We are proud to know you also and look forward to seeing you at more hammock camping events!

  12. Paul Collins (Skunkape)

Ok, I have had, and been using the Cricket Stand long enough now that I can give a true and accurate review on it. Let me start of by talking about the price of the stands. I hear and see a lot of people gasp when they see the price of the stands. I did the same thing when I first saw it too. But I also go by the motto, Cheap, Light, Durable, Pick 2, because you will never get something that falls under all 3. Theses stands fall in the categories of light and durable, so they are not cheap. When I saw these stand for the first time at the Fall Sprawl hang in South Carolina I was very skeptical about them because of how light they are. I though to myself, there is no way that this thing is going to hold me and be stable. Well, I was wrong. I very carefully sat down in the hammock and then slowly laid down in it and to my surprise it was solid as a rock. No bowing, swaying or anything else. I knew at that point, that it was a solid piece of quality gear. Once I got out of the hammock, Cal even took it a step further in demoing the quality and durability of it by picking it up and throwing it. It hit the ground and he just went over and set it back on its feet and laid right back down in the hammock. I saw Kristen and Cal again at HangCon when they came down to be one of our vendors there, and I started looking at the stands again and made up my mind then that I was going to have to save up to get me one. A few months after HangCon I was on their website and noticed that I could break up the payments by going through Affirm. I ended up going ahead and ordering the Cricket Stand that day. I have been using it a good bit in the house, in the back yard, and at the beach. I even make sure to take it with me when my family and I go off on vacations and such so I can set it up in the hotel rooms. A hammock is way more comfortable than the hotel beds and the Cricket Stand helps me with that issue. I actually make sure to keep it in my truck so that if I ever need it, I will have it. They give you the choice of 2 different bags for it. There is the roll bag and the brick bag. I use like the brick bag better for the Cricket Stand, where as I like the roll bag better for my Freedom Stand 2 Sides.

Now. Not only are the stands amazing, but the owners, Kristen and Cal, are great as well. I don’t think that you will find anywhere else that has the customer service and care that you will get from these two. They are very responsive to messages whether it be through email, messenger, or just a general social media post. They make sure that if someone is having an issue with anything, they will respond back to them with the answer. I have even seen where they will make a video that is specific to someone’s issue and post a demonstration of how to properly do something.

All in all I am absolutely glad that I went ahead and made the purchase. I really can’t find a reason that everyone shouldn’t have one. Even with the price, you are getting what you pay for when it comes to quality. And being able to break that price down into payments with Affirm, I feel its a win win.

    • yoboadmin

Paul, you are awesome! Thank you for giving YOBO a chance and for leaving such a thorough review. This will really help people see it from all different angles. We appreciate you and all you do for the hammock community!

The YOBO Cricket Stand- 1 Week Review

Let me start by saying I have tried out many other stands, some I love (Tensa4) and some I hated (TATO). Some of you may remember my 30-night review of the Tensa4 about 3 years ago. Well, I just had a chance to take my new YOBO Cricket stand out for a week long trip…and I have some things to say about it. I want to also state that I paid for this stand with my own money and have not been sponsored or encouraged by YOBO in any way. This is all my own thoughts and opinions.

First off, let’s get past the big elephant in the room…the price. Yes! This stand is expensive! And I know most folks simply won’t even get past the sticker shock of this thing, and I know that’s where YOBO gets a lot of blow back is simply on price alone. I camp a lot and my butt is big so…I want my gear bomb proof, easy to use, and innovative and I don’t mind putting my money toward those qualities. Just as an ultralight backpacker may spend $500 on a HG Dyneema Tarp setup with lines and such, or a set of 20 degree Trailheadz Ethereal Quilts will run you $800, or how much does a quilt set cost to get some of you crazy folks down to -40 degrees (just kidding…kinda). No one bashes those companies for offering a premium product, so I want to come at it the same way with YOBO, which does offer cheaper stands along the same price point as Tensa and TATO. I also want to say, at first, I was equally as floored at the price as I am sure most are…then I saw the stand in person.

The YOBO folks: Kristen and Cal are really great folks looking to bring a very innovative stand to market and into the community. They have been very supportive of a few hangs here in the Southern US (even cooler considering they are based all the way in Wyoming). This is huge for me because I want to support vendors that support the community first, and they have shown me that they are on the same page. Any questions I have, they have gotten back to me within an hour or so. They have worked really hard designing this stand and their hard work shows clearly in the product.

Build Quality: This stand is on point! Everything about this stand is very well made and put together. Everything worked the way that it should the first time. Once the stand was put together it was solid. Everything had a purpose. Everything on it you could see was well thought out and constructed. This thing came out the gate looking like a full production model. Even with my big butt hanging, the poles never showed a bit of stress. It really is something that seeing this thing online does not convey, you have to see this in person to really appreciate it.

Size/Storage: The whole package is very compact. It comes in a roll-style carrying case (also very high quality), which is very nice. A little lighter than my Tensa, but the bag is about 4 inches longer. Would I take this on a backpacking trip??? Maybe a short one, which is usually the only one I go on. It is very packable for car camping, bikepacking, motorcycle, or off-roading. The storage bag allows you to organize your stand and all the parts so everything is right where you left it and ready to set up or take down.

Setup: the stand setup no problem (with one exception). First time I sat down in it…. Solid. I hover around the 400lb mark so any fall is a heavy fall, but nope. Super solid, not even a squeak from the stand. The YouTube tutorials YOBO has on their channel were very helpful. The stand went up just fine outside the box. The only exception came with the tarp connectors, which I eventually gave up on, due to the fact that I couldn’t stake out the guylines on the ground I was on. Hopefully, after watching their new video on setting the stand up with a tarp I can practice in my backyard and get a lot better with the tarp aspect.

The support lines: The support lines that make this piece of witchcraft work are really neat. Not sure on the type of cordage, but it reflects light at night and is very easy to see. Before using the stand I thought the lines may get in the way and make the stand feel cramped. However, they did not and laying in the hammock I hardly knew they were there. Not any more than the poles on my Tensa4.

Other things I love: This stand is super easy to move. If the sun is in your eyes, simply pick it up and move it. No stakes or lines to worry about, just pick it up and go to where you want to hang or get a change of view. Move it to the campfire to hang out with friends, then back to your site after everyone goes to bed, it’s that simple (well without the taro part). Indoor hanging! Simply, in my opinion, the best option for indoor hanging that is: easily moveable, storable, and can accommodate a full size 11ft hammock. The versatility of this stand is really unmatched. I really look forward to continuing to put this stand through its paces and taking it on many more adventures, like our usual month-long summer camping vacation.

Final thoughts: Is this stand worth the price tag? All in all, yes. With all things considered, I think this is the best stand on the market right now. Its versatility is unmatched. I will say, one thing that the Tensa4 (which I still love and would also recommend) does have over it is the ability to hang a tarp from the stand itself with any other mods or poles. But the 500lb capacity, along with the compact design, build quality, customer support, and the ability to freely set up and more the stand at will really hits home. On top of all that, they support the community as well and make it a point to be at hangs.

We LOVE this thorough and honest review AJ! Thank you so much!

  14. Bill

I saw this crazy thing at the Overland Expo in CO and I had to have one. Since then it’s been camping, to the drive in, chilling by the lake and even spent some time in the family room. It’s a great product and I am supper stoked to have this on our adventures.

    • yoboadmin

AWESOME! We’re so glad you’re getting tons of good use out of Cricket. 🙂 Thank you for the update Bill!

  15. Trent

I decided to take it out to the beach the other day and I’d have to say I’m thoroughly impressed. Like how cool is that to be able to have a hammock on a beach with no trees!

    • yoboadmin

You are using it exactly the way we intended! So great Trent.

  16. Sam

Amazing! It literally took hardly any effort and its super simple to set up. I can’t really find anything to complain about honestly and I’ve been hammocking for probably the last decade.

    • yoboadmin

So glad you love your Cricket! Thank you for the review!
